Montepulciano d'Abruzzo
History
Montepulciano wine, whose presence in Abruzzi is witnessed from the mid-18th century, is considered today one of the most important red grapes native vines in Italy.
Current Production Area in the Park: According to the Production Specifications of Montepulciano DOC and DOCG, the production area in the Park involves several Municipalities in the Province of L'Aquila, Pescara, and Teramo.
Description
Montepulciano d'Abruzzo red wine has the following features:
- color: intense ruby red with slight violaceous shades, becoming garnet red after ageing;
- perfume: perfume of red fruits and spices, intense, ethereal;
- taste: full-bodied, dry, harmonious, rightly tannic.
