You can reach Capannelle Pass (1,300m) from L'Aquila, Montorio al Vomano, or Teramo if you take SS road 80 (today "Strada Maestra del Parco"), from Campotosto or Capitignano if you take the roads connecting with the SS road, or from Assergi and Fonte Cerreto along the panoramic piedmont road of Valle del Vasto. The itinerary leaves from the km 23.500 of the SS road, a few hundred meter in the south (direction L'Aquila) of the Pass, and in the north of the track maintenance house now used as Park guest house.
