Bean from Paganica

The bean cultivation in the area of Paganica, a village belonging to the municipality of L'Aquila, is proud of a centuries-old tradition thanks to the fresh and deep soils of alluvial nature and to the presence of water courses fed by many springs coming from the Gran Sasso.
The production is especially concentrated in the basin of the Vera river, whose sources flow from the Gran Sasso's slopes.
Until a few decades ago it was a significant production with a commercial outlet on the local market, but also in the bordering provinces (Terni, Rieti, etc…).
