Bergamasco Onion

History
Already during the Roman period, the vegetable gardens in the surroundings of Amiternum were known in Rome for different products, among which the onion called amiternina.

Current Production Area in the Park: The variety has been found in the Municipality of Capitignano.

Description
Characteristic horticultural variety mainly cultivated in loose soils, with small and round bulbs. The outer sheath is golden yellow.

Product Availability:
Transplanting takes place in April and harvesting in September-October. The quantities for sale are limited.
